We are all too aware that the tools of the trade go well beyond a bat, ball, and glove. At almost every level, we’re all required to master the rake, along with many other implements of the earth.
On today’s episode, we’ve got one of the Midwest’s preeminent groundskeepers, Andy Ommen. Andy took up baseball field maintenance as a kind of challenge and along the way has become one of the best in his field (so to speak). Andy has acted as a consultant and adviser for college and high school programs across Central Illinois and is in demand as a clinic speaker. Check out this conversation as we talk about preparing your field for the first game — now. What Andy calls, putting your field to sleep. There are a ton of great tips here, so be sure to check it out.
