This is not our usual coach interview, as this one comes on the heels of the announcement that Tulane coach Rick Jones is retiring…and far too early. Seems that the stresses of the coaching game, combined with a family history of heart disease, have led Coach Jones and his doctors to make the difficult call to step down. Amid all the phone calls, emails, and texts from ex-players, former assistant coaches, colleagues, friends, and family, Coach Jones has carved out a few minutes to talk to Top Coach about his decision. He also offers some great advice for coaches young and old.
