Frank Leoni has had quite a journey — from his head coaching position at his alma mater, Rhode Island, to his last D1 head coaching position at William & Mary to his current position at D3 at Virginia’s Marymount University. The NCAA’s Division 1 has many flavors, but you kind of know what to expect — especially if you’ve spent a good deal of your adult life involved with it. Not only is Coach Leoni moving into new territory by taking on an NCAA D3 program, he’s had to start it from scratch. Yep, that includes, players, staff, facilities, recruiting, scouting, equipment, and most anything else you can think of. In episode 41, we talk to Coach Leoni about just what it takes to start something like this and the kind of commitment it takes from a school.
