The Jack Leggett coaching tree is big and strong, but almost as amazing is the legacy left by the late Keith LeClair (Western Carolina, East Carolina). Erick Bakich is a product of both. Bakich started in California, but soon joined former guest Cliff Godwin as players for LeClair at East Carolina. It was LeClair who suggested to Bakich that coaching might be in his future.
Bakich left Tim Corbin and his Vanderbilt nest to join a struggling Maryland program. After three seasons with the Terps, Michigan came calling and Bakich took his plans with him up north, where he plans to take the Wolverines to greater heights.
