TC 181: Jason Dietrich, Cal State-Fullerton

Be the Best

He admittedly kind of stumbled into coaching, but it has been nothing but head down and learning his craft since he’s stepped into the arena. Jason Dietrich is in his fourth season as pitching coach for the well-respected program at Cal State Fullerton. He’s learned from some of the best along the way, including the legendary Mike Gillespie at UC Irvine. For a Southern California guy, that had to be a dream come true. Coach Dietrich has learned a great deal about loyalty, embodied by a philosophy at Fullerton in a foundation built by Augie Garrido.

In this episode we talk about former guest Andy Lopez, the benefits of clinic attendance, Tommy John surgery (his own and the current seeming epidemic), his experience as the Operations guy for Mike Gillespie, and the best way to learn as a young coach.
