Last May, right before the NCAA tournament got under way, we talked to Iowa coach Rick Heller, whose Hawkeyes had caught a lot of analysts and opponents by surprise and were riding a wave of success — all the way into the top 25. They didn’t make it as far as he and his squad would have liked, but they’ve certainly built a foundation upon which they hope to build a lasting legacy of Iowa baseball success.
In this episode, we spend some time talking about the facilities (completed and planned upgrades AND a terrific idea for inside seating!), the recent Big 10 surge, junior college baseball, the qualities of a good recruiter, recruiting as a staff, and the importance of networking.
