TC153: Jim Gantt, Catawba College

It’s one of the reasons most often cited by our guests about why they’ve gone into coaching — that is, to help in the development of young men. The way Jim Gantt puts it, he’s developing the player from the inside out. And he certainly has spent a lot of time doing it — from his summers with American Legion baseball in North Carolina (which by the way, just elected him to their Hall of Fame) to the rest of the year at Catawba College, he’s truly putting feet to his words. Coming from a family of coaches, Coach Gantt understands the impact a coach can have on a young life.

In this episode, we talk about American Legion Baseball, fundraising, the D2 College World Series, creative staffing, and the attributes of a good coach.
