The stories are what makes Top Coach an important part of the coaching arsenal, as you can learn so much from what others have done. If you’re a frequent listener to Top Coach, you understand that there is no one way into or through the coaching profession. Paul Rozzelle brings his own twist to that story, as he is our only guest (so far) who didn’t play inter-collegiate baseball (he was a golfer and a club baseball player). What some people may deem to be a hole in his resume hasn’t held him back when it comes to his coaching career. In 2015 he took his Catawba Valley Community College squad to the NJCAA D2 World Series.
In today’s episode we talk about renovating the local Legion field, the importance of a network in recruiting, the value of a junior college education, the types of players that a junior college attracts, and the re-branding campaign that he and CVCC navigated.
