TC126: Neil Ioviero, Kean University

If I had to use one word to describe Kean University head coach Neil Ioviero, it would be passion. If there’s one thing that draws me to a person in any walk of life, it’s a passion for something — anything. In fact, I feel bad for people who aren’t passionate about something. It didn’t take more than a few minutes of talking about baseball, growing up in New York and New Jersey, Kean University, and helping young people to get Coach Ioviero to demonstrate that he’s just got a passion for life. You can tell he loves what he does.

In this episode he talks a great deal about evaluating talent, his philosophy of building a team, and doing the little things consistently. And he’s done them well. Coach Ioviero is closing in on 600 wins and shows no signs of slowing down. He continues to put together solid teams, made up of players primarily from the region right around Kean.
