It’ll take us a while, but I anticipate we’ll get most of the baseball playing states covered on Top Coach. Today is our first foray into the state of Idaho where there are only a handful of baseball playing colleges. We get to talk to one of the more successful programs, not only in Idaho, but in the nation. Jeremiah Robbins is the head coach at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho. If that sounds familiar, it’s because Lewiston is the home of the NAIA World Series. Coach Robbins and his team don’t typically have to worry about just being nice hosts, as they’ve participated and won the tournament more than anyone else.
Coach Robbins comes from a line of loggers in Oregon, so when he talks about hard work, he knows what he’s talking about. He gives some great tips on interacting with the student-athlete and why it’s important to give your assistant coaches lots of room to do their job.
