I love it when I find coaches that are so obviously content with their situation. Doesn’t mean that they don’t burn with a competitive fire. It’s just that they’ve found a situation that is a great fit for them and their family and wake up every day knowing that they’re where they are meant to be. Such is the case with Jan Wesiberg of Birmingham Southern, a D3 school located in beautiful Birmingham, Alabama.
Weisberg is a California native and like previous guests Rob Cooper and Erik Bakich, made the trek east to play and coach. Coach Weisberg talks at length in this episode about the need to reevaluate every year and the importance of constant reflection. And with that one needs the ability to adapt. He’s looking to make a mark in Birmingham, getting his players to understand the importance of building not just a great team, but a great program and culture.
Here’s part 2 of our conversation with Coach Weisberg.
