High school coaches have a tough assignment. But you never get the idea that they dread it one bit. These are the folks in the trenches — typically doing most everything from coaching to field maintenance to driving the bus or van. Jason Whited is another one of the guys that’s getting it done. He is the very successful coach of the storied program at Centerville High School in Centerville, Ohio, just outside of Dayton.
In this episode Coach Whited talks about growing up in Ohio, talking with young people about their college choices, his many teacher of the year awards, military veteran recognition, teaching with stories, balancing winning with development, core values, staff, finding good helpers, parents’ buy-in, burnout, and family.
