In this episode of Top Coach we’re headed back into the world of baseball operations. Our guest is Denton Sagerman, Director of Baseball Operations and Pitching Development at Indiana University. Well, that most certainly is a large title — and he’s got responsibilities that make you wonder how one person can do it all.
In this episode we talk to Denton about new Hall of Fame inductee and fellow IU staffer Scott Rolen, his days as a two-sport star in Olmstead Falls, Ohio, his playing days at Dayton, his engineering background, making a pivotal career decision, getting his coaching start at Wright State, data analytics, landing at Indiana, Manager Appreciation Night at Indiana, his pitching development role, learning new apps and programs, utilizing technology, helping other coaches get started with technology, and the Indiana staff.
