Today’s guest has no small task – leading the smallest school in NCAA Division 1 baseball, in a small town, pretty much in the middle of nowhere in the western part of South Carolina. That being said, Elton Pollock has demonstrated that he is up to the task, turning his alma mater, tiny Presbyterian College, into giant killers.
In this episode Coach Pollock talks about Presbyterian College and Clinton, South Carolina, growing up in South Carolina as a successful multi-sport athlete, influential early role models and coaches, his dual sport career at Presbyterian, playing baseball for a young Tim Corbin, his experience in pro baseball, working in the business world prior to coaching, building the program at Presbyterian, relationships, recruiting philosophy, red flags in recruiting, facilities, changes in athletes through the years, the first two hours of the day, hunting, and his staff.
