
Back to Pennsylvania and the PSAC this week to talk to the head coach at West Chester University, Mike LaRosa. Coach LaRosa grew up in the area and never imagined he’d end up both playing and coaching for the local university. Well, time has demonstrated that he made a great choice.
In this episode Coach LaRosa talks about growing up in the area, his “baseball family”, his hall of fame playing career, his own recruiting experience, pro ball experience in the CanAm League, his business career, his first job at Neumann, his part-time gig at Widener, how a part-time position taught him to prioritize, landing the job at West Chester, the unique challenges presented by COVID, recruiting in Pennsylvania, the quality and quantity of good athletes in southeastern Pennsylvania, evaluating players – showcase vs. high school baseball, facilities, and his family.
