I guess you could say he’s a Texas guy through and through. Except for a couple of summers in Kansas, Kevin Brooks has never called any place but Texas home. After spending his first 24 years in Waco, he now calls San Angelo home where he’s been the only coach in the 18 year history of Angelo State Baseball.
In this episode, Coach Brooks discusses 2022’s monster run, an overview of Angelo State and San Angelo, Texas, growing up in Waco and playing multiple sports, his coaching path, beginning with the Jayhawk League in Kansas, his stint as a volunteer at Texas A&M, landing the position at Angelo State, the Lone Star Conference, recruiting, facilities, swag (or lack thereof), character, leadership, staff, and relationships.
