Just a couple short years ago, Robbie Britt was coaching baseball and teaching at a high school in Clarksville, Tennessee. Little did he know that he’d be trading the rolling hills of middle Tennessee for the mountains of West Virginia. In addition to that change in locale, he’s doing his coaching for an NCAA D2 program. That’s quite a change for a young coach and his family. Coach Britt now calls the University of Charleston home and is relishing this new opportunity. He’s got big shoes to fill, as Charleston has experienced a great deal of success recently under former coach Andrew Wright.
In this episode Coach Britt discusses growing up in a family of educators, his time at Maryville College and MTSU, coaching vs. teaching, the ABCA convention, landing the position at Charleston, post season evaluations, creative staffing, defining success, the most difficult aspect of his job, COVID, staff development and organization, and his family
