Here’s a prime example of good things happen to good people. Billy Mohl is good people. And what he’s got going on at the University of South Florida is better than good. This former D1 and College World Series pitcher is knocking out of the park. And unlike the stories he tells of his days coaching in Illinois, he can actually practice outside prior to playing a game!
In this episode, Coach Mohl talks about growing up in Colorado, moving to Texas and playing multiple sports in high school, his very successful college career at Tulane — being recruited by Mark Kingston and playing for the legendary Rick Jones, Hurricane Katrina, coaching at Tulane, big opportunities at Illinois State, his wife Sarah’s death, the USF opportunity, moving into the head coach slot, facilities, recruiting, scheduling, the difference between a northern mid-major and a southern mid-major, and his staff.
