TC369: Andrew Wright, New York Yankees

Andrew Wright has come a long way from Charleston, West Virginia to the Dominican Republic — even further if you factor in the running start from Canada. It was obvious from early on, however, that Coach Wright was destined for big things — whether that be in Charleston or elsewhere. Turns out that the “elsewhere” is Tampa and the Dominican Republic, where the New York Yankees are putting Andrew’s analytical and developmental skills to good use.

In this episode Coach Wright talks about thinking creatively, utilizing the resources at hand, turning advantages into super-advantages, self-evaluation, opportunities that came about because of speaking opportunities, how the opportunity with the Yankees came about, his initial position as Director of Staff Development, the move to Director of Operations in the Dominican Republic, goals, and putting himself in the shoes of his players.
