After a 2018 that saw Chris Ramirez named as NCAA D2 Coach of the Year, some of the smarter schools started sniffing around. Looks like Lenoir-Rhyne came out the winners as Ramirez as his family accepted the new position and set off for North Carolina.
In this episode, Coach Ramirez talks about Lenoir-Rhyne and Hickory, North Carolina, growing up in Iowa, playing JUCO ball, moving on to High Point for the rest of his playing career, going into financial services after graduation, landing a coaching position at a JUCO, getting the assistant coach position for Scott Malone at Texas A&M Corpus Christi, getting the head coaching position at the University of Illinois Springfield, finding a niche in recruiting, landing the job at Lenoir-Rhyne, assembling a new staff, the conference, road trips, and recruiting.
