TC319: Jayson King, Dayton

Jayson King had a good thing going at Franklin Pierce, going to the NCAA D2 World Series seven times, winning the conference title ten times, and many other accomplishments. All through this time, other programs couldn’t help but notice the success that Coach King was having — all while playing and practicing in ice hockey country up in New Hampshire. After a one year stint at Army West Point, Dayton came calling and they’re glad they did.

In this episode, Coach King talks about the University of Dayton, the city of Dayton, finding your niche, some of the paths he suggests for young coaches, coaching vs. recruiting vs. camps for young coaches in the summer, the field and facilities at Dayton, engaging fans and boosters, the Atlantic 10 Conference, scheduling with an eye towards RPI and the postseason, the significance of TV games, engaging coaches on your staff, and family.

List to our interview with Coach in episode 93 from January 5, 2015.
