TC309: Brian Mundorf, Louisville

When you’re a baseball coach, you learn to handle almost every aspect of your organization – sometimes all by yourself. Whether it’s field maintenance, laundry, equipment repair, or travel — if it’s going to get done, it quite often falls on you. That’s why it’s not a huge stretch for a former baseball coach to fall (relatively) easily into an operations role. Brian Mundorf came off a very successful playing and coaching career and moved into the operations role when Dan McDonnell took over the program for University of Louisville Baseball.

In this episode, Brian discusses his college playing days, coaching high school and college ball in Tampa, his move to Louisville, his transition into operations, organization as an asset, working through four different conference affiliations during his time at Louisville, and his biggest challenge (“budget — it’s always budget.”)
