TC307: Dana Cavalea

Dana Cavalea found his way into the world of strength and conditioning in an almost unexpected fashion. It almost certainly never entered his mind that he’d be working with World Series champs New York Yankees and players like Alex Rodriguez. These days, he works with players of all levels and his insights are valuable for players and coaches alike.

In this episode, Dana talks about his days as a baseball player, his college days at USF, interning with the football team at USF, getting his foot in the door with the Yankees, how he was determine to “fake it ’til you make it”, his crash course in strength and conditioning, being vulnerable, jumping on the core wave, biggest changes in strength and conditioning during the last decade or so, and how an athletic coach can get started in understanding what’s important for his players.
