TC306: Andy Nagel, University of Cincinnati

Note: This was recorded just about one month ago as the Bearcats were wrapping up fall practice.

Folks around southwest Ohio might know Andy Nagel from his long affiliation with athletic powerhouse Moeller High School or perhaps his successful career in real estate. These days, however, Andy has taken his significant skill set and is working his magic as the Director of Operations for the University of Cincinnati baseball team. Andy joined the Bearcats in 2015 after serving on the staff at Moeller High School for eight years.

In this episode, Andy talks about his time at Moeller as both a student and coach, his time in the business world, the traits that helped him both in real estate and athletic operations, the University of Cincinnati, learning the operations game from veterans like Al Woods (Memphis) and Brian Mundorf (Louisville), successful travel strategies, trying to keep it local when eating on the road, working with travel companies to book lodging, his biggest challenge (budget), and his own weather story from the Spring of 2018 – a salvaged California trip.
