TC302: Cliff Godwin, East Carolina

The last time we touched base with Cliff Godwin was 2014. At that point he had just landed at East Carolina and had a resume that resembled that of a D1 football coach, with stops at schools all over the southeast. Fast forward four years and, please note — his address has not changed. And don’t expect it to change any time soon. Big things are going on with East Carolina Baseball. And the fact that he’s an alum makes Pirate fans love him all the more.

In this episode Cliff talks about Hurricane Florence, the super-successful 2018 season, hosting an NCAA regional, recruiting philosophy, the traits of a successful recruiter, recent NCAA recruiting changes, upgrades at Clark-LeClair Stadium, promoting the program (Cliff’s Cab!), the state of college baseball, his staff, the time he thought about leaving the coaching profession, and the Keith LeClair legacy.
