We had such a great interview with University of Washington head coach Lindsay Meggs the first time around that we’ve invited him back for a part two. Frankly, we could have added a part three. As is the case with the baseball coaching tree, Coach Meggs has a connection to so many others in the profession, including former Top Coach guest, Rich Hill and Dave Taylor.
In this episode, Coach Meggs talks about the work/life balance, coaching your sons, how to handle losing, recruiting, the qualities of a good recruiter, how to determine if you’re in the right profession, delegation, and what working at smaller schools taught him about coaching.
Notable quotes:
- “Sometimes a young coach is so busy working on his brand that he’s not working on becoming a better coach.”
