Back in episode 167 we gathered an international panel at the ABCA convention in Nashville to talk about the state of international baseball — outside of the existing hotbeds of the game. We spent a lot of time talking about the game in Europe. Today we bring in two guys who know the European game well to discuss Major League Baseball’s initiative to try and get European (and other areas) players into U.S. based colleges to try and hone their skills before getting a shot at professional ranks.
Zach Graefser is based in England and works with MLB International. He also doubles as pitching coordinator for Great Britain Baseball. Tom Gillespie is a former guest who is based in Germany. He works for the Pittsburgh Pirates and also works with the German Junior National Team.
