There are at least a couple of firsts with this week’s guest. Texas Christian University’s Jim Schlossnagle graduated magna cum laude from Elon College and he’s listed among the notable residents of his hometown (Hagerstown, Maryland) in Wikipedia! But seriously, as another of the Rick Jones’ protoges, Schlossnagle has made his name in Fort Worth, becoming easily the single most successful coach in TCU history. Coach Schloss is quick to point to the “big picture”, that is, how the TCU baseball program complements the university experience and enhances life in Fort Worth. The road was a bit rocky in TCU’s inaugural pass through the Big 12 in 2013, but given Schlossnagle’s recruiting touch, don’t expect anything but continued success down the road.
